Call for Nominations for the 2017 PSHS NAA Board of Trustees Elections

The Philippine Science High School National Alumni Association (PSHSNAA) is calling on all Alumni to submit nominations for the Board of Trustees of the PSHSNAA. A total of eight (8) posts are open, for elections in the coming Homecoming and General Assembly of the PSHSNAA, on the 2nd of September 2017.

 

Any member of the PSHSNAA in good standing is eligible for nomination. Self-nomination is allowed. Nominators are enjoined to send their nominees’ curriculum vitae (preferable with photo) topshsnaa.membership@gmail.com. CVs will be posted for viewing on the PSHSNAA Hub (http://pshsnaa. org).

 

Deadline for nomination is on 28 August 2017. 


Election Guidelines

 

1.           Online voting will commence on 30 August 2017 at 0000 hours until 1 September 2017 at 2400 hours, PH time.
 
2.           Voting by proxy is allowed on the day of the General Assembly (GA).  Proxy forms may be downloaded from the NAA hub and will also be available at the PSHS NAA office, PSHS Main Campus, Diliman, Quezon City, starting 29 August 2017.
 
3.           On 2 September 2017 or the Homecoming/GA, signed proxies should be accompanied by a valid government issued photo identification card showing the signature of the issuer of the proxy.  The signature in the photo ID should be the same as the signature in the proxy.  The photo ID may be a photocopy as long as the signature is verifiable.
 
4.           During the GA, only members in good standing will be given a ballot. The ballot boxes and election area will be on the first floor of the gym near the front entrance.
                                                                                                                               
5.           Each candidate may designate a representative to watch the counting of votes.  Such representative of the candidate must be presented to the Chairperson of the Nomination and Election Committee of the NAA (NomEleC) for identification purposes before 8 PM of 2 September 2017.
 
6.           On-site campaigning will be allowed only at designated areas (outside the gym, beyond the staircase on the 2nd floor of the gym).
 
7.           Voting stops at 9pm on 2 September 2017.  The area around the ballot box shall be cordoned off at that time.  Only members queuing to drop their ballots at that time shall be allowed to do so.  No one shall be allowed to queue after the area has been secured.
 
8.           Counting shall be done by NomEleC members present during the election.  Only valid ballots shall be counted.
 
9.           A ballot will be invalidated if the member voted for more than the allowed number of candidates.  A write-in candidate (a candidate written in the ballot but not among the recognized nominees) will not be counted and does not invalidate a ballot unless – even with the invalidation of the write-in candidate the ballot still has more than the allowed number of candidates. 
 
10.      Elected members of the BOT shall be announced after the NomEleC confirms the results; and the in-coming set of BOT Officers will be announced in the alumni hub after the regular meeting of the BOT scheduled for September.
