Task Force HELP PISAY (Victims of Typhoons)

Two super typhoons visited the country late last year and Philippine Science High School (PSHS) Diliman Campus was not spared from the destruction due to one of the worst floods to hit in recent years. The flood which was worsened by the collapse of the wall between the school and the Office of the Ombudsman, greatly affected the dormitories, cafeteria and the Science and Humanities Building.

In response to the urgent need to assist the victims within the PSHS community nationwide, PSHS National Alumni Association (PSHS NAA), on its part, launched Task Force HELP PISAY (Victims of Typhoons). The PSHS NAA Board immediately approved the release of P50,000 to help in the rehabilitation efforts of PSHS Diliman. The amount was used mostly to purchase students’ textbooks to replace those which were badly damaged due to flooding.

The Board would like to thank PSHS Davao and PSHS Leyte for responding to the call for assistance by sending boxes of relief goods and used clothing to affected campuses. The Board would also like to thank all alumni as well as all concerned school personnel for their invaluable cooperation to efficiently carry out the objectives of the task force.
